One of the most unique cottages in this quaint village ~ this cottage is appropriately named. Nestled in the woods with great privacy (at the end of a dead end lane ) , this cottage will make you smile the moment you walk through the door. It is so cute and wonderfully decorated, you will feel like you have arrived at a memorable retreat. It is only a two minute walk to the water!
As you walk up the stairs to a small covered porch, you enter a living room and small dining area with a delicate wood stove, skylight window, cathedral ceiling, wood floors and bay window where the dining table nests. Antique furnishing surround you with thoughtfully decorated walls everywhere you look. This cottage is full of delightful surprises.
The kitchen area is to the rear with open shelves displaying antique dishware, canisters, glassware and many other accents. The kitchen has a microwave, coffee maker and toaster. Behind the kitchen is a bath with shower and a laundry area with washer/dryer.
Moving in the other direction from the living room, you are drawn to the fully glassed "great room" but wait, before you go there, take a right and look at the lovely master bedroom with queen bed, armoir, dresser, books and antiques. And yet another surprise is aft of the master bedroom as you walk into your own private bath with clawfoot tub, separate shower, and vanity. A movable fabric screen allows you to bathe in privacy in this special room.
Back in the living room and across the way you will find a small bedroom with a twin, which has two large windows allowing sunlight to pour through the room. An antique vanity serves as a small dresser.
Another surprise is a "companionway" ladder/ stairs leading to the small but private child's bedroom with a trundled single in the turret with windows all around.
Finally - now enter the wonderfully lit sunroom loaded with comfortable furniture, a futon couch, art work and six huge double sliding doors offering light and warmth when closed and fresh Maine ocean air when opened.
You will talk about this cottage with your friends for months after you were here and hope that it is available again next year.
