Features & Floorplan

The Nokomis Cottage is located right on the corner of North Ave with views of Merithew Square and out to the Bay.  The cottage is positioned to take advantage of morning light and fabulous views of the Penobscot Bay.  A large expansive deck is accessible from the kitchen and living room. The deck runs the entire side length of the cottage and and the entire front width of the cottage.  The deck has ample furniture for lounging and dining in the Maine salt air.  There is one set of stairs that brings you down to the front drive, and couple of steps that bring you to Merithew Square. You have a park as your front yard!

The living area of the cottage is all on one floor with an open floor plan.  The ceilings must be some of the highest in Bayside-hard to come by.  A well equipped open kitchen gives you a view out to the Bay which creates a lovely backdrop for beautiful summer meals. It all feels open and bright and airy, a great place to open every single window. The living area has plenty of seating for a good summer read or a cozy evening movie.  There is a small 3/4 bathroom  off the living space as well, with a standing shower to wash off the salt after a dip in the bay.

There is a fun set of spiral stairs that take you down to the daylight basement or up to the bright and beautiful second floor. There you’ll find the main suite with a king sized bed, views of the water and a spa bathroom. A true soaking tub and rooms standing shower accented with beautiful wooded antique pieces.  Along the hall with views as well you’ll find a bright room with bunk beds. A double bed on the bottom and a twin on the top, with a great skylight to see the summer stars. Finally there is a third bedroom with a queen bed. There is a Jack and Jill bathroom connecting these two rooms with a standing shower and cool stone sink bowl.  All three bedrooms have ceiling fans to keep that summer breeze moving.

The washer and dryer are located down the spiral staircase to the daylight basement , there is a  door exiting this level. A cozy wood paneled bedroom feels nautical and like classic Bayside with a full sized bed and a twin sized bed.  You pass through this room to get to the laundry room/half bath.
